Our journey has been punctuated with interesting turns and twists and colorful personalities. We hope you enjoy this brief timeline. 1991: Merit Medical* needed a reliable, high-yield pressure sensor solution for its first-ever digital inflation device. To meet this need, Sentir Semiconductor, Inc. was formed by Fred Lampropoulos** and Manny Rossell in Santa Clara, California. 1994: Merit Medical acquired a majority interest in Sentir. 1999: Merit Medical acquired the remaining interest in Sentir. We changed our name to Merit Sensor Systems, Inc. 2006: We relocated to a new state-of-the-art facility on the Merit Medical campus in Salt Lake City, Utah. This relocation underscores our joint commitment to the sensor business and will enable both companies to leverage key resources. These investments, coupled with key additions in management, will enable us to better serve our customers. The journey continues. * Merit Medical Systems, Inc. is engaged in the development, manufacture and distribution of proprietary disposable medical products used in interventional and diagnostic procedures, particularly in cardiology and radiology. Merit Medical serves client hospitals worldwide with a domestic and international sales force totaling approximately 70 individuals. Merit Medical employs approximately 1500 people worldwide, with manufacturing facilities in Salt Lake City and South Jordan, Utah; Angleton, Texas; and Galway, Ireland. Merit Medical Systems, Inc (www.merit.com) is traded on NASDAQ (MMSI). ** Mr. Lampropoulos founded Merit Medical Systems, Inc. He currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Merit Medical Systems. |
